Hua Xi is a poet and artist. Her poems have appeared in The Nation, The New Republic, American Poetry Review, Poetry Daily and elsewhere. She previously won the Boston Review Poetry Contest and the Eavan Boland Emerging Poet Award from Poetry Ireland. She is the recipient of a Stegner Fellowship in Poetry from Stanford. She has also received an NEA Fellowship and was named the 2022 Poet-to-Come Scholar by the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association.
She helps read poetry submissions for The Drift. She also teaches community workshops with the Spatial Poetry Project.
